This is the first video of a series where you can look over my shoulder while I’m retouching a photograph in Photoshop.
Even though I shoot RAW nowadays the photograph I’m working on here is a JPG. The reason that I emphasize this is that even though it is not RAW the first thing I do is open it as a Camera RAW file. This is because even though it’s a JPG and it has a lot less data that can be recovered compared to a RAW file it is not entirely lost. There are some things you can do with a JPG in Camera RAW prior to open it in Photoshop and giving it the final touch.
But keep in mind that you have much more possibilities if the original file you have is a RAW-file.
