OK guys, another black and white before we go to color again tomorrow.

I took this shot called A Warm Voice In The Cold of a jazzy singer during an outdoor event in Germany last December. I really go wide open as I could with my 70-200 2.8 but the light wasn’t that good. So I had to go quite sensitive with my ISO to get some decent shutter speed. I turned it up to 6400.

Not using a flash this results of course in some noise. A good way to compensate this is to go black and white what will rather make the impression of film grain than high ISO noise.

Anyway, in Lightroom I managed to get rid of the noise all together and I really love the result.

Here are some technical data of this shot for you:

Camera: Canon EOS 7D
Lens: Sigma 70-200 2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/500 of a second
Aperture: f2.8
Focal Length: 126mm
ISO Speed: 6400
