Always when I talk with my friend Pedro about the lenses we would like to use on our cameras we end up in wondering why the good lenses are that frigging expensive.
My favorite prices to brag about are the prices of the 2.8 and larger. My mantra is (was) that in fact we are talking about a hole. How can a larger hole be more expensive than a small one? Yes, I’m joking but seriously I never understood why a tube of plastic or metal with some glass in it can be so expensive that you have to steal the college money of your children to buy one. What is of course just true if you have children.
Anyway, the three videos that follow explain why they are so expensive. Enjoy!
