How To Use The Spherical Filter In Manga Studio EX 2

Today we have a look at another distort filter in Manga Studio EX. It’s the spherical filter that (again) is only available for raster layers 1, 2 or 8 bit. I never used this filter so I’m curious what you guys are coming up with.

Do you have any creative ideas how to use this filter? Did you try it on a drawing that is probably better in conjunction with this filter? Let me know in the comment section.

One use for this and the fisheye filter look like they could be used as a substitute for motion lines. The only thing that smith micro left out was a persistance and decay effect (like the rippling or waves around a drop of water hitting a pond) that would let you specify how many outlines around the original and how fast they disappear. Also I’ve seen something similar used when a character or object metamorphoses into another shape.
