No offend to my German fellows, but I think that the editors who where responsible for the German dub of Once Upon A Time In The West screwed it up.
Changing a dialog so that it better fits is one thing, just as with subtitles but in my opinion it’s just a big DON’T to let a character say something at a moment when he says nothing in the original version.

I agree, Leone made a 2:45 minute movie with only 15 pages of script because he was telling the story with pictures, no need for the extra dialogue we know Frank understands who Harmonica is with out it.
Right! And the audience would've understand this as well. Maybe the editors thought that the audience is retarded.
