While you can use the burn tool to easily add some shadows to your drawings you can add light just as easily with the Dodge tool in Manga Studio. I demonstrate it in this very short video.

This is a great way to make your Manga images look much for realistic. If you want to create high quality images that will look great on your blog or as part of a Manga series, then this is the perfect solution. If you’re keen to master the art of Manga studio basics, then this is certainly one of the techniques which you might want to try.

It can be tricky to get to grips which studio tools simply by reading Manga tutorials. To make it a little easier, I have put together the short video below. This puts written tutorials into more practical terms, and should make it a little easier to understand to use the Dodge Tool to your advantage.

Of course you can use all the different effects of the last couple of videos at once but keep in mind that it’s very tempting to overdo things. Often less is more.
