This is the first video in a series on how clothes effects breasts in your drawing. Things I missed out explaining when I was doing the voice over for this video you can read in this article.
This video is partly recorded in time laps, so please don’t think I’m a fast drawing showoff when it comes to drawing. I’m as slow as you are, maybe slower.
When I drew the girl I put all the layers of the drawing in a layer folder using Manga Studio. You have the possibility to do so in most of the other graphic programs as well. The fine thing with doing this is that I can change the opacity of the whole group (read: folder) of layers with on slide. Besides this, you can work a lot more organized. Especially if you tend to draw a whole comic book or graphic novel. In this case you can better put the layers of each object in a separate layer folder. It will prevent you of getting confused by your own creativity.
You can make drawing all this folds and wrinkles on clothes a lot easier for you by taking a close look on photographs. Though this seems very obvious most of us tend to feel forced to invent all the wrinkles from scratch. Of course you may not find a photograph of a model wearing the same piece of cloth you are drawing and coincidently being in the same pose. Nonetheless it will be very helpful to take a photograph as an example to get an idea. The more often you practice this the more familiar you will become with it and the less you will need this references in the future.
The inking was mainly done with the line tool. Just some little parts were done with the pen. For a video tutorial on inking you can go to this article.
Normally I would use this selection features during my work. The reason for not doing it in this example video is that it’s just one piece of cloth in one color. Thus in the same amount of time I would make the selection I can make the actual coloring. Of course you could argue that a selection would prevent me from making mistakes by drawing over the lines, but I am a risk taker this time.
I hope you found this little tutorial helpful. Thank you very much for your time reading and watching this. Stay tuned for more.
Oh yes, you find more related posts on my Comic Art And Tutorials page.

Hi Mario,
It looks so easy for you to do the drawing.
I am impressed how much you grow doing this figures.
Great work!

In fact I’m more used to draw realistic portraits as I showed in the video in my post on ‘When I grow Up’. Because of this it’s hard sometimes to realize that less is more and some lines will do the work.
Thank you for your comment! Very motivating.
