The Fourth Step: Neck Surgery And The Raptor

As always I pronounce velociraptor the wrong way. I know this has nothing to do with Tin Tin but I added a little preview on the end of this video for Jonni, who is curious about my dinosaur.

Have a lovely weekend and stay tuned!

Mario, your Tin Tin sculpture is really coming along. Love the eyebrows! And thanks for sharing your velociraptor. I’ve been trying to find a way to quickly dry large projects, and the only thing I can come up with is a solar dryer (basically a small plastic greenhouse.) If you know of a better way, please let me konw.

I just read a book called The Talent Code, which discusses something called “deep practice.” It made me realize that I leave way too much time between projects if I’m going to get really good at sculpting. And now you’re doing two rather involved projects at the same time! I’m going to learn from your example, and start a few more projects of my own, to see if I can learn more about that “deep practice” stuff.

Jonni, I don’t have the slightest idea how to fasten the drying process. The velociraptor is of course too large to put it in my oven. I just let it dry and find it in fact more time saving to switch between the projects. While you have to wait for one to dry, you can work on the other.

It all comes down to the fact that I don’t have any idea what I am busy with. At least it feels that way. The only thing I know is that I have a certain picture in my mind how I want the end result to look like and it comes very close. The important part is that I don’t take a second to doubt that the outcome will be as I want it to be. I should eliminate doubt in more areas of my life bu the way.

I just took a look on Amazon at Daniel Coyle’s book, if that is what you talking about and it seems very interesting.

You are very good at what you’re doing and without you I hadn’t discovered that I seem to have a kind of talent for this. I’ll keep a close look at your fantastic blog.

      Have a nice weekend.

I nearly forgot to mention that I started a third project at the same time: a bust of Yoda.
